Blues deal would’ve made sense like 6-7 years ago. Now, not so much.

laugh laugh I love how a team with only 5.5 mill in cap space thinks they can offer sheet another teams player who has 5 times the cap space. Zero chance that Calgary wouldn't match that offer sheet on Matthew Tkachuk with Johnny Gaudreau walking.

Well now you've put the Blues in an awkward position. Not sure how they feel about Provy, though, as he hasn't been good for two seasons. They might prefer Sanheim.

Every player was terrible under AV… he is a cancer behind the bench and killed the players production.

Provorov, however, doesn’t have a RHD he can trust to shoot or play well in his own zone so that also handicaps him. He played with York a bit last year and looked like a damn stud again. Just about having a partner that can play for him

1- Well, that's not accurate.

2- Hmm. The large majority of Provy's last two seasons (at evens) was spent alongside Justin Braun. Braun's defensive metrics are not insignificantly better in his TOI away from Provy. And I'm not sure how wonderful Provy could be with York when they were statistically poor together, and each was considerably better with other partners. Provy is a giveaway machine who now hits about half as much as he used to a few years back. He has been poor against 2nd tier competition for a long while now. Could he suddenly return to amazingness with Parayko by his side? I suppose. But it would be a gamble, and not just because he'd now need to face 1st tier competition every night.

A few insiders said that the blues were very actively contacting the flyers at the tdl about provy but I don't think it made sense at the time I figure maybe a deal could be made this offseason.

1. What’s not accurate?

2. Braun is good when he plays in his own zone, he is not good when there’s a turnover that leads to a rush. He is slow and gets beat a lot. Provorov never trusted him because of this.

While playing with York he would take more chances, while also not being afraid to pass

1- That every player was terrible.

2- Heh. And how many of those bad turnovers were Provy's? tears of joy

That may be, but it didn't increase either of their chance/goal shares.
