1 we dont want Meyers
2 we dont have the cap for Meyers
3 you'd have to pay us a 1st plus retain half to even think about trading him the the Bruins. Even Sweeney isn't that stupid

You'll have space when all your guys go to LTIR.

And further cripple our RD depth (already in really poor shape) for a guy who doesn't fit the timeline? I sure as hell wouldn't.

I have high expectations one of Nemec/Jiricek would be available at 6OA.

I don’t see RD depth problems with us, per se; our concern is more a lack of a top-pairing guy who can run with Werenski.

In an ideal world, Boqvist can become that guy, leaving one of Blaneky/Peeke on the mid-pair with Gavvy, and the other in a depth spot.

That being said, you’re not wrong about the time-line. I jsut find myself buying into the Miller hype-train, admittedly.

My perception of Miller is that he is not a #1C, he will never be a #1C, he's probably not even an NHL-quality center, and that going after him is an egregious luxury.

And we do have a depth problem - there's literally only four RDs of note in the entire system, counting Ceulemans who isn't even under contract yet. We had to pick up Blankenburg after most of the season was over to at least ice a complete roster there, and while his amazing start was very welcome, we really ought to have insurance there.
