Would be weird to go from extending a guy in January to moving him already, no? Gotta think that, aside from Fleury, GMBG probably had a pretty good idea of what the cap situation would look like when the deal was inked.

Could’ve extended him with the intent of keeping him for the rest of the year and then getting an asset for him. You never know.

Yeah, I guess, but that's more of a video game move than what we see IRL, in my opinion.
