Same. Some scary stuff reported. I feel for the man and hope he's alright in a bad situation.

Guess my team name was changed by the mods, but agreed. Goes way past hockey, that's the type of situation that can ruin someone's life

I caught the original thread title and I wholeheartedly agree with it.

Its getting closer to a Cat value but I still feel its a little light. Change Zamula to Frost/Andrae and its much closer. the 24' 1st lessens the overall value IMO.

Yeah. I've been following the story with Fedotov. Crazy stuff. I hope he's ok and can get back to playing.

As for that Cat trade, I really don't have much interest in Brink and definitely don't have any interest in Zamula. The picks are nice, though!

Andrea for Zamula is feasible, and Brink is honestly probably a little better than he gets credit for. I still think New Jersey or Ottawa can beat the Flyers offer if they tried (and I think they very well could) but I personally view the Flyers making an offer close to this as "if the Hawks don't get anything better, I think they'd really consider it".

Yeah maybe. But you gotta remember, Davidson isn't actually shopping Cat he is just listening to offers on anyone and Cat happens to be one of the most appealing players on the roster and in the league. He has no reason to deal Cat unless it is an offer he can't refuse. And that offer is not that. The speculation that he will be moved is predicated on someone stepping up and paying the price for him. Those picks could turn out to be HUGE, but at face value, I am more inclined to believe that Cat will make a bigger difference with the future of this team than any of those pieces. Cat is only 24 and would be a great player to continue building around.

I don't really love the Marchment signing personally, but he definitely would be a Torts kind of guy.

Under this scenario, I think the next move would be trying to find a way to unload Ellis. Or is it a foregone conclusion that he's going to be on LTIR for the rest of his career? I have zero clue what to make of his situation.

I totally get the fear that he can't repeat what he did in Florida, but my personal opinion is that he'll be able to replicate his play driving results, and given a bigger role with 2 star linemates he could explode.

As for Ellis... nobody really knows. I definitely think you can't commit big money to the D if you think he's going to play again
