Why would the Bolts trade Sergachev after also trading Mcadonugh?

Why should the Canes make that trade? Suter and Veleno really don’t help the Canes now, and don’t really hold enough value to even make the Canes consider trading Necas.

Trying to buy your way out of a rebuild never works and it's how you end up in the never ending rebuild. In the words of Axle Rose All we need is a little patience.

I wouldn’t call this “buying our way out of a rebuild” the only player I added over the age of 24 is Palat.

Getting rid of failed draft picks and signings like Veleno, Zadina & Suter isn’t buying out way out. And if/when Yzerman does something like this, y’all are going to be clamoring in the streets like slappys.

Valid points. TBL still in a less than ideal cap situation but I’d bump that first to next years and/or add more. The longer they wait to extend, the more Sergachev will cost and they can’t pay everybody.

I think Suter gives the Canes what they got/can expect from Necas this year and maybe with Veleno they can extract the best version of him, which could be pretty good.

I'd guess they're trying to work out an extension already can't officially do so until the start of free agency

Necas still put up more points, and can still take a couple steps forward. I doubt Suter gets much better than he already is, and Veleno just gets sent down to Chicago since the Canes already have more than enough C, and Veleno more than likely isn’t better than Drury.

You really have no idea of what you're talking about buying your way out of a rebuild has nothing to do with age. You have 15 assets going out and 5 coming in. I'm sorry but that is buying your way out of a rebuild and I'm going to have to agree with AdamFox this puts us in the hunt for a lottery pick.

Your wording is kind of interesting here. I'm assuming y'all is Red Wing's fans so are you saying you are not a Wing's fan? Having multiple accounts is a no no.

What;'s with calling us Wings fans a bunch of slappys or calling AdamFox a forest ranger. Those are just personal attacks and there is nothing constructive about either of them.

What did you think of the two (2) draft trades last year? Yzerman moved out 5 assets for now 1 remaining player in Sebastian Cossa. Mind you, we’re still retaining salary on a player we shipped out in one of the deals and the two second rounders turned into high end NHL prospects, and arguably could have stayed put at #23 last year and still gotten Cossa considering Wallstedt was the consensus #1 goalie and he went in the 20’s.

Everybody loved those trades, even tho we could have come away with, L’Heureux, Raty & Chibrikov but you only end up with Cossa. And everybody seems to be happy about that. I’m not. I like Cossa, but I think that was a premature trade to make, same as the Leddy deal. Hence the, reference to “y’all liking” whatever Yzerman does.

I am a red wings fan. An unbiased one.

I’m not sure if you’re implying I have multiple accounts on here? I do not. Not sure what purpose that would serve.

You’re really trippin if you think this is a lottery team. I moved out underwhelming players in Veleno, Zadina & Suter - I’d hardly call those guys “assets”. And made room for Palat, Soderblom, Berggren & Necas, while adding two star caliber defensemen to the top 4 and strengthening the bottom pair in the process.

This team easily makes the postseason.

But again, if it was up to me, I’d continue to take on bad contracts and acquire assets and stockpile the prospect pipeline. This is just one scenario where if we were to become aggressive, I’d like to see them acquire young players who are still getting better and can sign long term to team friendly deals.
