I hate it here

Team: 2022-23 Buffalo Sabres
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 30, 2022
Published: Jul. 5, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I’m growing less optimistic Adam’s actually cares about winning this year. Signing Anderson again and being out on the top UFA goalie because he’s worried about a college goalie who won’t be ready for the NHL for another three years is simply insane to me... Klinberg is signed to help get to the floor. Young kids will learn nothing, we’ll get a few moral victories and finish 20th-27th rinse and repeat.

You’re right, I should accept my team continuing to be a pathetic franchise built on “what could be’s”.....

Seems his focus is on developing the D-core and hoping the UPL. As long as the Sabres have Dahlin, the future looks bright, he's proving that he can drive offense in the NHL as well. If Power lives up to the hype, then even brighter. It will be a rough road, but letting the forwards just play, might yield to 1st year VGK-esque results.

Adams is bringing back Anderson back as a plug, if it leads to them tanking, he won't mind drafting high next year, even if he doesn't land one of the top 3 since it's set out to be a deep draft.

At least they will know which forward prospects to move on from when they are looking to compete in a year or two.

You guys got some solid pieces coming up. Trading Eichel was step one in the full rebuild. That happened last year... a little more patience but I think Buffalo will turn the corner eventually.

You're getting a few solid pieces in the draft this year at 9 (Lekkerimäki) and 16 (Chelsey) then a legit shot at Bedard in 2023.

BUF is in dire need of locker room character. Reaves and Goodrow flipped this sinking ship 180°. Last year's total embarrassment felt like it would linger forever, now it's a faint memory.

UPL hasn’t shown anything but a sliver that he is the answer in net. D core on left side looks great, Quinn and Petkera look promising but I’ve seen us with all all stars not translating to nhl before... we’ll see. I like Thompson but need to see him do it again this year. Cozens and Krebs need to elevate there games drastically. Team cannot grow without top 15 goaltending. We won’t be getting that from near AARP member Anderson

They already have that. Tuch, Okposo Girgensons.

They aren’t going to be bad enough for Bedard. They are probably going to be around 500.

Goaltending is arguably the most important position but it's also the most unpredictable, if the team proves that they are ready for the next step, Adams will try to go get a goalie, but there's always teams after goaltender for a reason. Maybe Hellybuyck hits free agency in two years, if they have a solid D-core by then Buffalo might become an attractive place for goalies to go. If Klingberg is still looking for 62-66m on his next deal means he wants at least 8.85m x 7, which would probably lead to an expensive D-core with Dahlin and Power, so he's probably not the target to get actually, but who knows. Signing a guy like Reilly Smith who was very important for VGK might be a good idea if he's not too expensive.

If Husso/Campbell want 5x6mil, you don't offer that because it would be idiotic. Neither have proven anywhere near that level of value.

Some may not want to come here regardless of offer; Adams can't control that.

I don't see any reason to sign Klingburg when he fills no need; we need either a defensive Dman or vet DMan on a shorter contract not an offensive Dman on a long contract.

I don’t want Klinsburg but I’ve seen us linked to him and we need to get to the floor. I agreed on years for goalies. We don’t need to give out 5 year deals. But if we could get Campbell for 3 years 5-6 per I’d do it all day. Goaltending g is important and you can still be smart about it without settling for crap

I'd do 3 years, but supposedly they are looking for 5/6 years
