my preference is not to sink crazy assets into chychrun, i don’t think this team is a chychrun away from a cup and i don’t want to deal the first rounder next year and then end up a lottery team

if Forsberg signed 7x$9.5M I would definitely take it. but i pass on that trade every single time - it's 2 firsts and the consensus best prospect in the system for a guy we're slotting into LD2. Not saying Chych isn't a good player, but that's a ton of value to give up for a guy who's received Norris votes -once- in a 6 year career. Not saying he needs to be Bobby Orr, but I'd want a more impactful player giving up that kind of package.

Yeah that Chychrun trade has a high chance of resulting in a disaster. I can see Chychrun either injured for most of the season or not meeting expectations.

As good of a player as Chychrun is, that many assets being used on a LD2 is not worth it. I’d rather just give BOS a 3rd for Mike Reilly. I like the Forsberg deal and Varlamov trade though.

Varly trade is a bit weak in terms of return. Also, dont think VGK has the cap space to make that deal work. Varly with 1mil retained and a 3rd for Hague and a 2nd sounds better.

I don't think the price for Chychrun is that steep. I think Arizona could get something like Beau, this year 2nd, Holmstrom, and another pick (2nd/3rd) or B prospect
