Kings decline. Kings not looking for high salary forwards.

Sounds like Edmonton will only move Puljujarvi for player(s), not picks, given where they are in their rebuild. That, and he's going to be looking for more than $1.5m x 1.

I cannot promise you 1,000% that the Blues would reject that, but they 1000% should. Provy hasn't been worth all that in two seasons and this doesn't even count the cost of shedding cap to make room for him.

Turcotte is our 14th and final forward, and we can't afford anyone with a cap hit much higher than his (i.e., over $1.25 million). You're asking us to put 16 forwards under contract before presumably losing two of them and incurring at least $8 million in over-the-limit cap before paring it down. Too much trouble.

I was just thinking that they would need to get rid of him or lose him for nothing, I understand where they are as a team, but sometimes just gotta get what you can. I think it was Elliotte Friedmann who thought he could be had for a 4th or 3rd, maybe a 2nd if a team really wanted to take that chance.

Idk, I think Provy would look good with the Blues, especially next to Parayko or Faulk really. That would be a really good top 4 , and with Leddy (if you bring him back) and Scandella and Bortuzzo, that's a really solid all around d corps.

That all could be true, maybe we take back some salary as well, not really all too sure the cap situation for you guys. I just heard on a podcast today that even after acuiring Fiala, you'd have 12 million left without any high free agents. Was just a thought.

Leddy? He's gone. You mean Krug.

Yes, it's theoretically $12 million. But that includes two minimum-level contracts of young defensemen who won't be on the team when Mikey Anderson (about $2.5 million) and Sean Durzi (about $1.5 million) are re-signed, so the real figure is roughly $13.5 million before we re-up our five RFAs. But in addition to the two defenders, one of our three forwards is Adrian Kempe, who will get at least $5.25 million. So that's $9.25 million and then there are the two remaining RFAs (Grundstrom and Vilardi, who should aggregate $2 million) plus the 14th forward, who will be a promotion from Ontario (probably Turcotte), thus a minimum-level contract. That's around $12.25 million of the $13.5 million we have in cap space, which doesn't leave much for the seventh defenseman without some other adjustment.

I was already penciling in Krug as the other top 4 dman. Wasn't sure if they were bringing Leddy back or not as a bottom 4, 3rd pairing guy.

I kinda thought they liked Leddy, not surprised they signed him. Does this mean Krug is gone?
