Why would Detroit pay premium forward and defensemen for that ? They roster player would be better al for the team then selecting one player.

Bertuzzi is the only premium here and his future with the team has been in question for the past 2-3 years. Hronek is a throw in piece needed for this deal. He’s no more than a bottom pairing guy on a cup team with his defensive game. Wright would solve your #2 center right away and possibly the #1 in the near future. Grabbing Wright and keeping the the #8 pick would be big for Detroit’s future core.

You make him sound like he's worth a 4th rounder. He's a solid top 4 young RHD (which are in short supply).

Definitely has a higher price tag than a 4th round but if you put him on a Colorado or Tampa, he’s no where near a top 4 Dman. Yes, his appeal is that he’s a younger RHD and he’s a half a point per game player but his defensive game really struggles.

There some D-man who is more effective on offense then defense and still pretty good, maybe Detroit didnt find someone to play with him correctly ?
