The Canucks already declined that trade offer IRL. They aren’t going to settle for that

Capitalize on Chytil playoff performance of *checks notes* 9 points in 20 games to make him a centre piece in a trade for a 99 point centre

Why not scrap the Miller trade...and go Chytl 2C and Roy 3C?
Makes no sense to give up 3 premium assets for 1 year of Miller.

Vegas can't really afford much nowadays with all their free spending. Unless they actually find a way to move Karlsson, someone has to go.

It's the more logical move. I just really feel there is something to these Miller rumors coming true.

canucks already declined this offer, Neither of Lundkvist or Chytil are premium assets (Chytil has a small chance of becoming a 2c but likely has a 3c ceiling, Lundkvist is looking like a mid pairing defender at best right now), and even if you do give up 3 premium futures, if you win a cup, it absolutely makes sense

I think the rangers fans are the only team in the league that consider Chytil and Lundkvist as “premium assets”

Well if these are the names which keep coming up in trade talks then I guess other teams' front offices like these guys more than their fanbases.
I would rather roll with Chytl and Nils going forward than 1 long shot crack at the Cup with Miller.

Rangers management called Vancouver and offered basically this exact deal. Vancouver said no…

What make absolutely zero sense is expending these assets (and I respectfully disagree- they are premium assets) for a player they have no shot at extending...so they get 1 crack at the Cup. This is the kind of move which will get Drury fired and blackballed from the NHL- unless the small odds come through and they do win the Cup...easy pass

At the TDL...where they would get 2 playoff runs with Miller.

I respect where your head is at with the patience, but at the end of the day the owners and the results will be the judge. Should Drury be fired and blackballed for trading a first for Copp?

The NYR have only 1 Cup in 80 years- largely due to a history of short sighted "win now" moves. I'm not sure NY franchise owners really want to win...what they really want is a certain "buzz" about their team which leads to fan and corporate interest. I'll never forget in 1995 NY Jet ownership proclaiming "I want to win and I want to win now" as he hired Rich Kotite- then won 3 or 4 games over the next 2 years!

Getting back to hockey- there really is no "win now" formula. Too many pieces are required and too much chemistry is needed to grind through the season AND playoffs. So to burn through more picks and prospects to land a stud player's services for 1 year is just foolish- especially since still a Cup victory is a long shot. As far as the Copp trade- when that trade was made my 1st thought was that Drury better have a plan to extend him because they gave up a ton. Problem is- he worked out so well he might have priced himself out of Drury's plan (if he had one). So no- I wouldn't fire him for that- but that should be the last of this type trade he makes.
