      Petry isn't a cap dump

Wouldn't give our 2023 first for PLD by himself let alone with other pieces included

Wishful thinking for Drouin, out to lunch on Petry, and the Dubois trade won't happen from either side without a long term deal being in place for him which then likely increases his value even more.

The rest is all very plausible imo.

The Jets aren't giving up Dubois for a first and some low quality add-ons. Honestly, outside of Suzuki Montreal doesn't have anything interesting at all to use as a main piece.

If the Jets had that offer for PLD he would be gone already. 2023 will be a exceptional draft and there a 90% chance Mtl finish in the bottom 5 again this year. Adding a lottery pick for either Michkov or Bedard is a premium prize. Let alone talking about all the other prospect who would gone 1st overall in many ohter draft year. Yagger, Benson, Carlsson, Dragecevic, Ritchie, Fantelli. Dubois is good but he isn’t a superstar in this league. The more and more Winnipeg hold on to Dubois and the closer he get to UFA. They won’t get much when that will be the case.
All that being said there no way Montreal trade their first round pick in 2023.
