There are some serious issues with that Calgary trade. Just scrap the whole thing. I’m sorry I don’t know where to start on providing you with more feedback than that.

Monahan is damaged goods. You need to give us a 1st round pick! I wouldn't touch Dvorak, he is a Montreal throw away. Give us another 1st to take him off your hands.

Yeah Flames and Wings both decline that. The entire reason of moving Monahan is to add 6M cap space and no chance Detroit trades a 1st for a rental coming off 2 years in a row of season ending injuries

Why in the world would we do this? A first round pick for a player Calgary is done with? More wingers too? I'd be mortified if the Captain did this

Idk anything about the Otto dude but that’s a very good trade for the Wings. It’s essentially one of our two 2nd rounders next year and couple future mid picks for a 2nd line 2-way center on a reasonable contract.

Dvorak isn't a legit 2C. Pass. He's been overrated his entire career. He's never scored more than 38 points in a season.

Dvorak isn't a legit 2C. Pass.

I mean what even is a “legit” 2-way center anyways. You’re not good enough to be a 1st line center but too good to be a 3rd line center?

I mean he certainly shouldn’t be counted on to be your 1st line center but 2nd & 3rd line centers are nearly interchangeable on great teams.

Pius Suter is a 3rd line center; is he better than Dvorak? They’re certainly not equal.

Same for Michael Rasmussen.

Dvorak is MUCH better than both of those players and those two are your current 2nd & 3rd line centers.

I can understand if you don’t like the player, and you can just say that if that’s the case, but he is absolutely qualified to man a 2nd line center position at a high level.

Personally I’d rather sign someone in free agency but, I don’t think it’s fair to trash the trade because it isn’t so bad.
