4. Tier IV: Long-shots - Mostly role players, tweeners, space-fillers

5. Tier V: Everyone else - unlikely to do much in NHL

I have a feeling that Holtz comes up and rips it up this year. I agree with Kdev on Foote probably dropping after this season, but I also think he could be considered as a fringy tweener at that spot. I'd say in a year or two Casey is going to make a lot of people regret skipping him.

I am pretty high on Salminen and am interested in what he does at UD next year. Heavy style of play, good shot...perhaps a future 3C. He didn't get the exposure from Finnish junior leagues since he was not allowed to play in men's league. But he was certainly capable. He is possible captain of next Finland junior team.

Wouldn't quibble with any of the others.

Damn...if only Foote could skate. His AHL fancy stats were fantastic and he has NHL size and shot. He just turns like the Titanic.

Long term, I could see him as 3LW with a role near net on Power Play. But hard to see him as top-6 option.

The optimistic take is that we did see a skating transformation with Sharangovich a couple of years ago. It had been his weakness, he tried something new, broke out in KHL, and has been on upward trajectory since.
