Yah, that is wayyyyy an overpay to move Murray and Zaitsev, there is no way in the world the sens give up 1st, a 3rd, Branny, JDB and Brown ?

Norris contract needs to be higher, Giroux is too much, Klienberg is getting a better offer from Seattle, in term which has been reported on Sportsnet multiple times.

So, you're saying it costs the Sens a 3rd to get someone to retain 25% on Murray (after they've already retained 25%), and then it costs the Sens JBD and Brown for someone to eat the other 50% (Leafs)?

That seems...odd...

But they were going to give up 7th OA and a good prospect for 16th OA to get rid of Murray. Not sure why Sens fans are expecting to get out of from under that contract for cheap all of a sudden

Might want to temper expectations on what Toronto is gonna get for Murray. Everything I've seen suggests that Toronto is doing this because they want Matt Murray. Now Ottawa will assuredly be eating a bunch of money to make it fit, and maybe there's a piece involved, but I'll put money on it being WAY less than this.

Also Klingberg would be a huge mistake.

I don't think that was true, I think that was a stunt to get the Debrincat deal done.
I don't expect the sens to get out of that contract easily, but the cap buyout penalty is only 750k to 2.5 mill for four seasons, so it doesn't make sense for Sens to retain that much unless there is something else in it for them. They are supposed to be looking into saving the cap space for Giroux and a top 4 D, so doesn't make sense.

Klingberg is an interesting move, but I would rather Weager from Flordia who they also have been in talks with.
