Contenders run with 23 man rosters. Also, not much sense in trading for Stolarz when they have Kallgren/Woll they are confident in until it is clear that they need another goalie. I do think they will try to sign someone for 1.5 or so tomorrow.

They will likely only have a single 3m+ contract fir new players, Muzzin isn't going anywhere (for now most likely). They will sign a bunch of 750k-1.25m guys (without any trades, they can sign 6 guys at 1m avg atm).

Puljujarvi will not thrive on a Leafs' line 4 (or even 3 probably).

Puljujarvi would nto be a good 4th line winger. Would need to be in the top 6.

Edmonton isn't trading Puljujarvi cheap nor are they trading him for futures.

I think they go into the season with him accepting his QO or unsigned because they don't really have much of a choice at this time then to do one or both of those. After free agency though, things can change.

If they do trade him for something like that it won't be to a strong offensive team like the Leafs because they don't want to trade him for cheap and then shortly seem like a star.

Pretty sure Jesse will opt for arbitration and will therefore be another year in Edmonton.

True, was thinking his QO was in the 2s for some reason, he might get 3+ in arb so that might be his fastest way out. Either way though once teams know how much he's getting if they still need him that might lead to an off-season trade but yeah would have to agree that it goes to arbitration and he starts the season as an Oiler.

Only way Anaheim trades for Muzzin is if we get compensation for taking his contract — we have no need or want for him

Anaheim needs Stolarz and most certainly doesn't need Muzzin. We'd have to be induced to take him for one of our minor forwards.
