so what do you propose? They dont really need defense because thats the reason hanifin is expendable.

But realistically reinhart for hannifin is a very mutually beneficial trade. If reinhart is able to Move to center

Reinhart is what should be the base of a deal going back. Nylander+8ao might get some interest.

Hanifin/Risto top pair for years to come... ROR and Eichel have the top 2 center positions on lockdown and Okposo has one of the RW slots filled for the next 6 years. Reinhart should be an expendable asset for the right player/fit.

I know what youre saying... i just have this gut feeling reinhart is gonna be stupid good.. But its a big question mark. just like hanifin being a top pair guy. we dont know yet. only time will tell, and the longer we wait, the more the price goes up for the guys we need

First the Canes aren't taking back bad money so those Bogo and Ennis trades are off the table.
Canes need wingers so a few of the other trades have merit. If the Canes value Nylander to be an NHLer....maybe the last trade you mentioned might be in play.

Why does Buffalo need Halifin at all??? It's no secret that Buffalo had a horrible defense this year but with the much anticipated additions of Antipin and Guhle that gives Buffalo 3 decent defensive pairings. Why does Buffalo risk giving up any of these offensive players at all for what are probably 3rd or 4th defensemen? It's not worth the price.

Well their floor is what they currently are, and the ceiling of a 1C and 1D respectively. Unless one gets injured and can't play anymore the trade probably ends up pretty fair now and in the long run. Quality for quality is what it's going to take to get either of these players from their teams.

I don't think Guhle is NHL ready and not for top-4 duties.
McCabe looks like he'll be 2nd pair player. I don't see the the top pairing abilities in him.
Antipin is a wild card, I don't know his game. If he's a top pairing guy then it's all a moot point. If he's a middle pairing d-man, Buf is still missing the top pairing needed to really compete.

Like a Ryan Johansen/Seth jones. I know it works for both. i guess most sabres fans dont let go of their own players too easy. Should be a fun offseason and couple years ahead. im excited

Reinhart makes the most sense. Nylander provides speed and skill, which we need in a pretty big way. Because nylander has not proven that he can play at the nhl level (and his first ahl season, at 18 mind you, was meh), the add would be significant, probably 8oa. Reinhart is the answer here.
