If all you want for Beau is a 3rd, I'd take him in Anaheim in a heartbeat. No interest in paying anything for Panik.

Ideally a 2nd but I didn't know if that was asking too much

I’d be very disappointed with that return for Miller as a fan.

I can't see the Miller return being that light - Koivula will be 24 so you can't really call him a prospect anymore, I'd consider him bottom 6 depth at best. Bolduc needs to take a leap this year because last year he looked a little lost (plus LD is a position Vancouver is set at for quite a bit). The 2023 1st is fine but I think you have to add another pick and a prospect on the upswing to get Allvin to consider this (that being said, I don't think trading for Miller is the move to make anyways.)

Maybe something like that 1st, 3rd and Iskhakov better? Must admit that I'm not exactly the expert on what VAN has prospect-wise lol

What gets it done from your perspective? I assume the 23' first would be the starting point

At this point, it has to be a Top-4 RHD or blue chip RHD prospect + another higher-tier prospect + 2023 1st. Canucks are stacked for their forward group and won't take a Top-6/Top-9 forward back.

23' 1st, Scott Mayfield and a prospect not named Dufour or Raty get it done?

Absolutely not. Canucks rejected 2022 1st + Lundkvist + Chytil at TDL. You have to offer a better package than that to get Miller.

Any conversation with the Isles alone needs to start with the 2023 1st + one of Raty/Dufour, the Isles have no other blue-chip prospects. Even then, the Canucks are after defensive prospects and NYI's cupboard is bare.

The only way I can see a trade fit with the Isles now is a three-way trade where the Isles get Miller, and the Canucks flip Raty/Dufour for either a Top-4 RHD or a blue-chip RHD prospect.

Interesting. I feel like you guys are in a bit of a tough situation cap-wise and will lose a little leverage with people seeing that situation and him in his last year of deal... if the 13th pick was enough at the draft but was nixed because they wouldn't allow them to talk extension, i'd be surprised if it took that much. If it did take next year's 1st and one of Dufour/Raty to get this done I'd have to move on as an isles fan

** see comment above** but also.. what you think a Connor Garland to Isles deal would look like? Is he a better candidate for a trade than Miller?

If that's how the Isles feel, then there's no deal to be had.

No, Garland would have to be a trade straight up for a Top-4 RHD of around the same age/skill level this season. The Canucks RHD needs are too pressing to trade Garland out this season for picks/prospects. It's one of Miller or Garland, not both, and Miller can fetch the bigger package.
