Dobson > Miller. Islanders laugh and hang up.
GeauxPreds1 and bagelbob liked this.

Isles decline. The only way I see Dobson being moved is if his contract ask ruffles old Lou’s feathers too much.

He’s a 22 year old right handed defenseman who is a true top pair guy. Might be a #1 defenseman at some point in the near future. If Vancouver wanted him they should’ve taken him at 7 in 2018. He’s not going anywhere now unless Lou wants to be killed by an angry mob.

They chose Barzal over Trotz. You think ownership lets Lou stay over Noah?

isles aren’t trading dobson for miller unless the canucks add significantly. just isn’t happening. they’d be interested in miller i imagine but not if dobson’s the price.

The way the isles r built I don’t c any way they would move Dobson. I’m not saying he’s better than Elias Pettersson, but he might be more important to the isles success than Pettersson would be. Considering how old their forward core is they can’t afford to lose his production on the back end.

i mean i would probably deal him if pettersson was on the table, or at least strongly consider it. but not for miller.

I’d consider it. But I think at the end of the day I don’t think they could do it. Look this team won games when they had a top six defense of Pelech-Pulock, Toews-Mayfield and Leddy-Boychuk/Dobson. If they moved Dobson their long term future on the right side of the blue line would become a serious issue and it’s highly debatable if they could function as a unit without him.

I think what Dobson does for them can’t be replaced. I don’t really believe in paying guys entering their 30s and especially if they would play wing on the Island. I think they should prioritize locking up Barzal, Dobson and Sorokin and just hope one of Wahlstrom, Raty or Dufour can become a top line player.
