That's a better trade, not sure if they take it but having Barron in the is the biggest thing thing for them I think.

I'd do it, probably take Drouin, I think he'd really rebound with Ehlers.

They won't get any better than that at the TDL or next offseason for Dubois, just get rid of him and move on.

My issue isn’t the value. Just why? The habs can get him for free in two years which is when they should be competitive again. At the moment bringing in a guy like Dubois isn’t the best move because it makes the team better but it doesn’t help them contend. I’d imagine all the addition of Dubois would do is take the habs out of contention for bedard/Michkov/fantilli. But hey could get dvorsky at best as a buddy for slafkovsky

With the defense MTL got, and how their division rivals got stronger, i doubt they do better than bottom 5 this year.

I'm not really high on Barron, i see him as a 2nd pairing D. Dvorak has to go in a Dubois trade, i don't mind trading him.

The only thing that bothers me is the 1st if FLO miss the playoffs and get a 10-16 pick. Maybe i'd switch FLO 1st for MTL 2nd instead.

Probably the best offer they're gonna get anyway.

This is closer than a lot of other Habs fans but I have a couple of push-back concerns: 1) So much depends on how WPG values Dvorak. If they want to stay relatively competitive, I think he's very valuable but if not it might be better to trade him separately to get more assets. 2) Protections on the pick are likely a no-go but definitely not top-10. Maybe a lottery-protected top-3. 3) I don't know if Barron is blue-chip just based on the Lehkonen trade. Maybe blue-chip-lite but if I'm WPG I want something just below the Caufield-Suzuki-Slafkovsky tier.

Being bottom 5 doesn’t cut it with top talent in bedard and Michkov at 1-2. Fantilli would’ve been the first pick in the 2022 draft imo. If montreal doesn’t get one of those three this season was a loss. If I’m montreal I am trying to finish bottom of the standings to win fantilli at the minimum. Dubois makes the chances of getting one of those three much worse as the draft lottery only allows two teams to win now. While Dubois makes the team better, he doesn’t make the team good enough to warrant a trade for him when you could land one of those three. Gotta embrace the tank at this point.

Suzuki alone is worth more than Dubois.

Most of your post are Jets declining reasonnable offer, only to counter with very unreasonable offer. This is getting odd.

No, he’s really not…and the only people who think the crap Hab fans are offering is reasonable are other Hab fans.
Dvorak is a 3rd liner we don’t want or need
Anderson is a 3rd liner we don’t want or need
If you want to trade for Dubois… it’s Suzuki + Barron
If not, then stop posting crap offers… and cap space is your problem. We won’t be taking any cap back for Dubois

Dvorak is a 2C on a bad center line and 3C on a good one. He'd be 2C in Winnipeg without Dubois. He could be flipped for a 1st in 2-3 years at TDL, just like Lehkonen.

After Slafkovsky, Guhle is MTL best prospect, but he's a LD. Barron is below but not that far. He's a legit future top 4 RD.

Jets are not in a position to ask for a 1 for 1 trade with player of equal value.

They're gonna have to take what MTL has to offer, or trade him for a good prospect and a 1st at 2024 TDL, which is less than i'm offering.

If you think you're getting a player of equal value + a top prospect for Dubois, you're delusionnal.

Everyone knows he's going to MTL in 2024 anyway. You're not getting what you want for him.

Trade him now for a 1st and a top prospect, or keep a player who doesn't want to play in Winnipeg for 1 and a half year, then trade him for the same thing. Your choice.

That's decent value, but the Jets likely prefer Dach to Dvorak. Winnipeg also won't be taking back a cap dump unless Montreal is adding enough compensation to do so, which means an additional 1st.

Montreal's cap is their problem, not Winnipeg's when they are getting Dubois at a discount.

You can't trade a 8M player and take 0 money back.

If i'm Winnipeg GM, he's the only player from MTL i'd build a trade around, because Suzuki, Caufield, Slafkovsky and Guhle are untouchable.

You gotta give to get. I'm not very high on him anyway, he's a top prospect, but i see him at a 2nd pairing D.
