Description

It’s certainly been a whirlwind offseason for Calgary. Losing Johnny to Columbus really has to hurt. I’m a Habs fan and I’m mad for Calgary fans. It’s one thing for him to “go home” but man it stinks to see him go off the radar to Columbus.

Now what do you do? Contend? Rebuild? Retool? I personally would go rebuild but I don’t see it happening and Sutter isn’t going to stay for a rebuild, so retool it is and hope to at least be competitive and get back into the playoffs. My aim here is to help Calgary do just that.

So RFAs first:

Everything has to based around Tkachuk and seeing if he will sign a long term deal. Offer him the kind of contract Johnny turned down and hope he takes it. Make him the cornerstone of the franchise

Pay Mangiapane. The Italian bread man sure can put the puck in the net and they’ll need to see even more from him.

That's not really gonna work for the Canucks. I get that Kylington can play both sides but the Canucks are gonna want an actual RHD. I'd also have worries about Kylington playing without Tanev

I agree it’s time for a rebuild but I just don’t see it happening unless they’re going to move on from Sutter and bring in a younger coach who isn’t in win now mode
