Canes pass. They have already addressed the concern at RHD. Bringing in Burns and Coghlan definitely helps. Not to mention Bear was qualified and Chatfield and Keane will also be battling for the Canes 3RD spot. As much as I like Fabbro, he isn’t what the Canes need right now or in the future. Any interest in moving Tolvanen or Jeannot?

I could see it working on NSH's end, if Fabbro was replaced with Tolvanen here. Jeannot would obviously be a no go.

I wasn’t exactly talking about a package for Necas, but more a deal or prospect swap for one of the 2 I mentioned. The only reason I included Jeannot is because he had a great season last year and I see he is on the 4th line on your AGM. Tolvanen I would go with a prospect swap. Rees would definitely fit the Preds playing style I would imagine. As for Jeannot, he could be a great long term Patches replacement.

I wouldn't mind taking a flyer on Rees, but he's still young enough that I can't see CAR selling him off at a low enough price I'd be comfortable with. NSH has so many wingers in Rees' age range with higher upside that I don't see a clear path to the NHL for him with the Preds. Definitely not Tolvanen, but Rees for Ingram maybe?

Regardless of what line Jeannot winds up on, he'd still be off-limits for anyone CAR would be comfortable trading.

Rees is a Center. That being said, the Canes future Centers include Aho, KK, Drury, Necas (if he doesn’t get traded), Rees, and Ponomarev. Rees I think has spent some time on the wing with the Wolves, but he was drafted as a C. That isn’t talking about any of the Canes other C prospects. So Rees could be traded for the right price. I think Tolvanen + would be able to get him, but who knows.

Lots of players that get drafted as centers shift to wing once they turn pro. If Rees hasn't played down the middle after two AHL seasons, it's likely a little late for him to learn to be a center at the pro level. Maybe not, but we're clearly too far apart on his value anyway. I feel Tolvanen alone would be an overpay for Rees. I do think Rees could be the kind of player John Hynes likes, but NSH already has a similar but superior prospect in L'Heureux. If he came cheap enough (say Ingram or a 3rd) I'd like to give him a shot in MIL, but much more than that wouldn't be worth it for the Preds.

Well, so far, he isn't addressing that huge hole in the second line. Other than that, he's signing back-up goaltenders and players for the Ads.

Value aside - doesn’t really address any needs for Canes. Loaded at RD now and Ingram would just be an AHL goalie for us both now and long term.
