There’s no need for them to “make a push” or make any of those unnecessary trades, those hurt them way more than it helps them. They’re still a rebuilding young team trying to recoup all the assets they can and play their going guns as much as they can. They will finish with another top 10 pick this year and next year they’ll probably be looking to come out of the rebuild.

I do not believe we will draft in the top 12

Fair. I could see it if they hit their potential of this season being a young team to build on. I personally see them picking somewhere between 8-10 though and then next year they can comfortably look to come out of that rebuild. Been some real dark times in Buffalo over the past years, I’d like to see them hit the mix soon.

"BUFFALO PUSHES FOR PLAYOFFS AT DEADLINE"
*trades for Henrique*
*trades for Gostisbehere*

The Sabres dont need either of them and they arent even upgrades to what Buffalo has already

The Sabres already have a ton of assets and wont finish top 10 again. they could easily make a move at the deadline, these wont be it

That's about where I have them on paper.
Could the young guys take a big step and that would get them into that 12-16 range maybe.
Biggest wild cards for me are Detroit, Ottawa and Boston at least in the east. They could all push for playoffs or they can not mesh.
