starting the offer with Aaron Huglen means your offer has zero percent chance of getting heard out, let alone accepted

Ah yes, if the offer went Aaron Huglen, Owen Power, Rasmus Dahlin, and Tage Thompson then I too would decline based off of the first person listed.

include one of them instead of a random nobody from the bottom of your reserve list and you might get taken seriously

It’s not the order. It’s the inclusion of an asset like that so you can think that it’s a 6-asset trade. That’s not how you make a proposal for a superstar, especially when only 2 of the other 5 assets are worth including.

I mean clearly you know nothing about the player. Also may be worth including as it gives the team control over that asset for years to come, something that calgary as well as the sabres have had trouble keeping their players

Obviously I know nothing about the player lmao, nobody does, because he’s not a relevant prospect. He’s not even top 20 for the Sabres alone. Seems like an average-sized, meh NCAA winger. I’d rather have literally any draft pick to take a chance on an 18yo that may or may not become anything rather than a 21yo that doesn’t look like much.

How would you know he's not even top-20 for the Sabres if you know nothing about him? The Sabres also drafted Brandon Hagel in the 6th round who is smaller than Huglen and a later round pick. I understand that doesn't equate to being as good as Hagel, but just because you aren't aware of a player doesn't mean he isn't relevant. I couldn't tell you Calgary's best prospect but by your logic he isn't worth anything because not everyone knows about him. Not every player included has to have immense potential. A player can be thrown in that can be a bottom-six player.

I know he’s not a top 20 Sabres prospect because I could probably name the Sabres top 20 prospects lol. I could at least get far enough down the list to guys that I don’t think will ever make the NHL, and who are still more relevant than Huglen. And most good late round picks generally make themselves known within 3 years of their draft lol, like we already know Joshua Roy was a fairly good pick, we knew Dustin Wolf and Devon Levi were good picks within a year, etc.
