Supposedly Devils are not on MT list of teams he's willing to sign with.

That's a lot of spare parts with that 1st. Can't imagine that is at all enticing.

who would you recommend?

My guess is nemec isnt an option, feels like nj wouldn't want to do holtz graves and 2023 first

Debrincat return was 7OA this year and a good D from last year in 2nd round. I agree its gotta be better but not Holtz and Mercer and a 1st better

Holtz and next years 1st and a smaller piece than graves, with maybe something to eat up some cap space for us

No, not saying Nemec. I think it starts with Holtz at the very least, a 2023 1st, and probably a player that hurts like Sharangovich who is on the less expensive side but I really, really, like.

I wouldn't compare everything to DeBrincat. That trade was WIDELY panned as a bad deal for Chicago. It was pennies on the dollar. Also, I do believe Tkachuk is a better asset as he can IMMEDIATELY be signed to an extension as opposed to DeBrincat with OTT could play a year, then say "I'm not going long term with you" and then Ottawa is left trading him in an even worse position.

Sure but Cal has less leverage and look at the other side of the players I named. Plus Debrincat and Fiala are what we have to use as a measuring stick
I am with you on Holtz at the very least, a 2023 1st, but then its a Bahl/Foote/Thompson/Grits/Walsh/Stillman/Muk (in no particular order) and maybe a mid round pick or not

I don't think we are going to agree on the leverage part here, as I am adding in the leverage the player had long term. DeBrincat was a bigger risk without being able to extend at the time of the deal, Tkachuk would be signing now. Less risk for the buying team means it can be a higher cost.
