I love the aav on the Kadri contract but the term kinda worries me, I mean we’ll see what happens but idk if I’m comfortable with a term over 4.
But in all honesty it’s completely realistic that’s what he will demand.

At this point, if there is a deal to be made, he's going to have to accept less money than he thought he might get and the Avs are going to have to accept a lot more term than they want. The Avs can try to front-load the contract and get favorable trade terms on the back end of the deal to offset the term. The silver lining would be that if they can squeeze 3-4 more good years of play out of him, the cap will have gone up by the time he's really declining and maybe they will have won another Cup or three.

The Ducks need D and have plenty of space - they take EJ for "future considerations" without the 2nd.

I'd pass on Kadri at any more than 5 years. AAV is fine though. I don't think EJ needs a second adding either. Sure it's to move cap but he's still a serviceable 3rd pair D for ANA. Price for Bear is exactly what I would offer as well. Extensions next year may still be a bit of an issue though.

I would view Bear as a rental you can flip next offseason to recoup the pick you paid for him this year. Avs can't afford $2m+ on the 3rd pair in 2023 which is why I only signed him for one year.
