I would do that. You would have to make sure Tkachuk signed for 8 years before you made that deal. But Adams won’t. Too risky. He wants to stay the course

Doubt Tkachuk would sign long term in Buffalo, but as far as trade value goes its not bad. Although I think Calgary would be more interested in Nadeau than Kisakov

I agree with Adams, built like Colorado, Tampa, and PIT. Build up through the draft and make moves for depth when your ready to win. Ottowa is kind of following this path and I think the sabres are 1/2 years behind Ottowa. Next year maybe the sabres follow the same path, sign Patrick Kane and jump to contender.

No trade goes down with out the team talking to Tkachuks agents imo

I don't think buffalo is behind Ottawa. Ottawa just played more aggressive this off-season.
I don't think Kane changes the course of buffalo's finishing position.
Kane is kind of washed nothing more than feel good fan narrative at this point
