He is on an extremely good contract and was a very good top pairing defenseman

Hey Scottos! Saw it in the Flames GC first and I already said some of it but I kinda wanna give a more dedicated reply.

I like most of these trades, and the only ones which I really wanna talk about are the Markstrom and Andersson trades.

Just to touch up on Andersson a bit more, I just think between him and Kylington, the team will pick Andersson. Of course, Kylington won't have nearly as much trade value but I can still see a lot of interest. This is just more of a "trade logic" criticism though.

As for Markstrom, while I do think it's not as much of an overpay as that other guy said, I do think it very slightly is? Since Holtby has retired, I think you could probably adjust it with Blackwood coming back in that deal and subtracting a little from the Devils offer. Markstrom is a very good goalie, but the contract makes it an even tougher sell trade-value wise.

Otherwise, pretty damn good. *Maybe* Tanev is a slight overpay but I also think people don't realize how truly great he is as a defensive defenceman.

at 30+ and coming off a huge injury. He’s probably worth a 1st, but not also worth the Sens’ best forward prospect on top of that
