Lol no Vancouver isn't moving a first for a defenceman who can't defend

Are you a win now team? Some of your fans say yes. If you are then that’s a no brainer easy yes. If you are a win in 2 years team then no you don’t do it

How is acquiring a bad player a no brainer easy yes?

Because he isn’t a “bad player”. He makes your team instantly better. He runs a PP with Hughes that would be lethal. The entire premise of your comment is silly.

Then trade Miller for only futures. We shouldn’t see people angry at Miller trades that don’t involve a proven top 6 forward coming back or a top RHD. Those assets don’t come back unless you’re trying to win now

Canucks PP is the one thing they really don’t need any help on. Hronek is terrible at controlling play and gets lost in his own zone. Not even close to being worth a 1st

We have 3 PP specialist defensemen. The very last thing we could possibly need

??? OEL has been an all around steady defenceman his whole career and certainly never a PP specialist. Are you talking about Myers? Because I’d take Hronek over him in the blink of an eye

Yep he was the PP man in Arizona. Doesn’t matter though because Hughes runs our PP and they are on the ice for literally the whole 2 minutes

But he was no PP specialist. That’s someone like Barrie who is known primarily for that aspect of his game. OEL was paired often with guys like Demers or Goligoski who are certainly offensive first dman. He also took plenty of shift with Lybushkin who’s very much the opposite. OEL is an all around defenceman. In fact he’s about as perfect a partner as you could want for someone like Hronek. Myers should be run out of there because I’ve never seen anything in that kid. I’m convinced if he was 6 foot even he’s be mostly an AHL player by now

Even if OEL isn’t a PP specialist in your eyes, Hughes is. He runs powerplay 1. Nobody is taking it from him, especially for some guy like Hronek. Last thing we need is a PP specialist. We also have Rathbone who can run a powerplay 2 unit

Well no, then the other deals don't make sense for Detroit either.

Trading Hronek wouldn’t happen without signing Klingberg. If you don’t sign him that trade doesn’t happen. Why is adding Pulujarvi for Zadina not making sense? It’s a very like for like switch with a modest upgrade at RW in Pulujarvi

Rather try out Zadina with better line mates and new coach. Puljujarvi worked his way out of Edmonton's line up after playing with the two best players in world. I also can't stand how he looks so there is that as well. Hronek some games looks like a top pairing guy and then some games looks lost. I think with having a steady partner could do wonders for him. Also retaining on him wouldn't be worth it, we could find a suitor without retention and likely without taking on a bad contract.
