Trading Nylander for Bjorkstrand would be a mistake. Also, CGY probably keeps Weegar (even as a rental), maybe could trade Kerfoot for Meloche and a pick. Severson is a guy the Leafs could maybe target as well.

Anaheim says you can keep Holl unless you send a decent pick with him. So will Arizona, Buffalo, and Seattle.

Dude he is 6’4 RhD who is good on the PK & can give you 18+ minutes a night,A 6th is not an overpay, If anything its an underpay with how Gudbranson & Chiarot got signed to 4+x4’s & Holl is comparable at half the price with 0 retention, people just listen to the idiots that say “TrADe HoLl when he’s the Leafs leading Shot Blocker & Top PKers

I see so many Anaheim fans getting angry with giving up picks for the leafs “cap dumps” cause why would they help the leafs be cap complaint but Anaheim isn’t even cap compliant lol Anaheim is 8 million below the cap floor with 1 rfa to sign, who left in free agency would make up that cap? I Doubt klingberg is signing with Anaheim.

Dude, your assessment is just wrong.
If anything Anaheim accepts and runs away.
Maybe they go for a different player but they have no reason not to consider this.

This is more of an underpay if you'd actually take the time to consider all the facts.
Firstly, Holl isn't a cap dump. He won't cost a lot and carries a $2M AAV for 1 more year.
He plays on the PK and can log a lot of minutes.
Second, Anaheim only has 5 D under contract right now.
Most importantly, Anaheim is also more than $8M below the cap floor so they need to be cap compliant to start the season properly.

I swear people just see a player they don't want on an AGM and just scream cap dump.

The facts are that Toronto moving him to be cap compliant, therefor he is cap dump. Holl does nothing to help the ducks rebuild plans or schedule as a rental. Anaheim may be below the cap floor right now, but there are still big names in FA that other teams are trying to sign, and big cap dumps are yet to come. We can also find our 8 million from almost any of the 31 teams, or free agency. Toronto has very few trading partners to offload a 2 mil D man who is apparently underperforming his contract. If he wasn't underperforming at that cheap at that AAV, then why would you be looking to dump him?

If you think you can get market value for the guy, shop him around to a contender.
