In terms of trade value, Miller is not a scrap compared to Barzal. Get off your high horse.

Dude Miller is 29 and expiring while Barzal is 24 and under control. I’m sorry I didn’t phrase it better but I don’t c why I’m getting so much hate for it either lol

He carried the Isles offense to the conference finals lol

Right but did he win?

Neither Miller or Barzal have any actual playoff success. Playoff success is winning the cup. Miller is the better player right now. No argument to be made.

Take a look at some stats comparison between the 2

Barzal is better at pretty much nothing

Miller played for the rangers and the lightning before he played for Green. Idk why u r ignoring that tbh lol.

Because he was deployed on the fourth line on both.

I mean his numbers r gonna be impacted by his terrible linemates and he’s five years younger. Miller has great linemates and the Vancouver Canucks top six is way better than the isles which takes pressure off him.

Right but all I said was in comparison. I didn’t think anything of it at the time lol. I was just saying that cause of the age gap.

Miller carried his line all season. Pettersson and Boeser were slumping. Last year, he had to play with the likes of Highmore and Vesey. 2 AHL players.

Doesn’t change the fact that one is 29 and one is 24. In the future tho I’ll try to make sure I’m being more clear. I have no problem accepting the fact I can communicate my points better.

U too. I wasn’t trying to be a dick btw. My comparison was meant to be tongue and cheek and I did a poor job communicating it. Hope there r no hard feelings. smile

Hughes has better point totals but I wouldn’t take him over Dobson for a wide variety of reasons. As for Barzal he’s had more success in the playoffs than Pettersson and any disparity in regular season success can be explained away by the difference in linemates the two have. Don’t be a homer lol.

Pettersson played at over a PPG pace in the playoffs his one playoff run. Barzal has never been a PPG player in his 3 playoff runs. Him having more playoff games can be explained by Barzal being on a better team

There’s no hate, if you actually let it affect that you much you should probably go get help.

Kadri at 9 mill is somehow still better than paying 13 mill combined to Myers and OEL - and I highly doubt kadri signs with the isles. They have their top 6 centers

Right but having Miller, Horvat and Boeser is gonna help that. Barzal didn’t even that kind of talent around him in his rookie year…

Pettersson is better than Barzal, but Barzal singlehandedly carried the isles to the ECF both years. Points don’t tell the whole story, he is the only reason they made it that far. For 1 player to be able to carry a team that far in 2 consecutive years is incredible

The athletic did a great story about the most dangerous transition forwards in the league. Barzal is just so good at creating zone entries but he can’t capitalize on them at a high rate cause of his line mates. For that reason alone I’m not sure Pettersson is better than Barzal.

Barzal was in the 300s among forwards for on ice shooting % last season, which is incredibly unlucky for someone with his skillset.

The league is built around guys who can control the puck like Barzal can. He’s one of the best in the game at creating chances but his linemates are just such ****ing trash in comparison to what Pettersson has. That’s not a knock on Pettersson btw!!!

His best line mates last year were either Bellows or Parise. I like both guys well enough but it was ridiculous.

As scary as it sounds I think his best option at left wing next year is bellows.

I get why you say that, but Bellows numbers with. Barzal last year were very good. That being said I wouldn’t be shocked if they started with Bellows-Barzal-Beauvillier as a line.
