I don't understand the absolute need for a lot of Stars fans to move Heiskanen off the right side of the blue line. Just leave him there. It's better for Dallas to have him on the right side and have a top pair of players that are used to playing 23+ minutes a night than to force a bottom-4 RD on to the top pair just to move him to the left side. Especially when it forces someone like Harley out of the lineup.

Unless you're getting a true, bona fide, top pair RD just leave Heiskanen where he was last year. He's still an elite defenseman, even on his off-hand side.

Lindell-Heiskanen >>> Heiskanen-DeMelo

Heiskanen would be so much better on his natural side. I agree Lindell Heiskanen is a much better pairing. But, at 5v5 I think Heiskanen has another level he can get to playing on his natural side. I am also not sold on Harley. I'd prefer to use him as trade bait at this point. Sure, I'd like him in over Suter, but that's just not happening. Nill has made an investment there and he's not backing down from it.

Of course not. This is more a joke than a serious trade. Bones just loves Faksa. Their cap hits are similar and we need a RHD.

Heiskanen may be better on his natural side, but the defensive pairing as a whole would be worse because you're running a 2nd/3rd pair defenseman on the top pair, against opposing top lines for nearly 25 minutes a night. I'd love to see Heiskanen back on the left side, but not at the detriment of the rest of the team around him. The team is better off having one of the few defensemen in the league, that's elite on both sides, shoring up their biggest organizational weakness, even if it means playing on his off-hand side.

I don't get being out on Harley already. The kid isn't even old enough to drink yet and has played 34 games at the NHL level. You don't need him to be "over Suter" right now either. With the crop of defensemen we have, he's on the opening night roster unless something insanely unpredictable happens during the preseason. The only 2 ahead of him on the depth chart are Lindell and Suter.

I said I am not sold on him. I am not out on him. He can absolutely develop into a very good defense man. I just haven't seen enough yet.

I’d say it’s somewhat realistic if the jets didn’t have Lowry as they essentially serve the same function.

"I just haven't seen enough yet," You reffering to Harley. They guy just said he's played 34 NHL games. Nobody has seen enough of him.

One thing I will say about Harley is that he drives play through the neutral zone and was starting to really shine in the defensive zone his last 4 or 5 games of the season, so I am optimistic.
