I keep thinking these are written in haiku, or poem-form, which would at least make this entertaining.

When you spend so much time piecing together random snippets of nonsense to form a narrative ir always comes out sounding like that. Some wine mom big book of poems ****, either that or a hostage note created out of words cut from sears catalogues where the kidnapper had to substitute words for ones they couldnt find

"nYlAnDeR iS bAdDdDdD!" "Matthews HATES Toronto" "JT is the worst point per game player in the NHL" "Muzzin will waive his full NMC to go to Arizona" "Marner is a playoff bust"

I feel like I'm forgetting some.

Setting aside that they can't come close to affording it, I'd love to hear your rationale for why the Blues should take that deal.

Marner is a over a point per game player for the entirety of his NHL career at 1.07...tied with Patrick Kane and just below Kucherov. He is also in the prime of his career and signed for 3 more years. Even at almost 11M a season he is worth it. The blues aren't keeping Tarasenko. He wants a trade and they will deal him for futures and a prospect. Cap space will be there. Parayko is a good stay at home defender at a reasonable 6.5M cap hit...albeit for 8 more years, which puts him at 37. You're telling me that you wouldn't trade a prospect, a 1st and A stay at home defender for an elite winger who is only 25 and under contract? Not to mention they can put Sandin on the 2nd or 3rd pair. St Louis has good defensive depth already. They can afford to lose Parayko, not to mention whatever they get for Taresenko, which won't be minimal. They would be crazy not to take this deal. As a flames fan, I would take it in a heartbeat. I would give them Hanifin, or Anderson, a 1st and a prospect if that was the price for Marner and Sandin. That being said, Leafs fans would jump down my throat for even proposing it.

Oh dear. So no. You act like the Blues have ANY need for Marner and like it's just so simple to replace Parayko. No, I would not do this utter foolishness as the Blues GM. The Blues are NOT trading Tarasenko to add cap AND poke new giant, super-expensive hole in the team.

Taresenko already requested a trade. Last time I checked he hasn't resigned...sooo, why wouldn't you get a better player in his prime? The blues offered him in the Tkachuk deals, so it's only a matter of time before they do trade him.

Heh. Like I said, the cap alone kills this. So do the other things. I'm not sure what the disconnect is. Offering Tarasenko for Tkachuk is not the same as offering him up for two players that are likely going to cost nearly twice as much as his exiting cap hit, and for years. Obviously. Meanwhile, he's not even in the deal in this AGM so I'm unclear as to why we've pivoted toward him so much.
