As Dumba has been linked to TOR multiple times this offseason, obviously they would have to make subsequent moves to get below the cap, however, I will forever be trading Dumba to TOR

Because there really isn't a market for that kind of Dumba right now with the cap squeeze. Toronto certainly can't make that trade.

TOR is one of the only teams in the league that has shown interest in Dumba, so if there is interest, there has to be a plan of how to get it done.

Something about 10+ teams wanting to take Hornqvist for a 2nd rounder or more tells me dumping him won't be that expensive

That's not trading Dumba. That's giving him to Toronto.

It has been reported that GMBG has been quietly shopping Dumba for weeks, with no takers. The only team noted that has previously and is believed to still have interest is TOR.

Sure. Minny would have to take cap back. Which they can't because you have them acquiring Hornqvist.

TOR probably cannot acquire Dumba without moving Nylander, which the wild could not take him on. So they would have to go elsewhere with that.

Within this is the podcast that the wild beat reporter says ~3 times that Dumba is not as safe as some assume.

That's a lot of work for a rental that they don't need that badly. Especially moving a guy as good as Nylander. Minny's leverage also evaporates as soon as they add Hornqvist.

It would have to go in reverse order, get to $10M in cap space and then take him.

Which is why moves like that rarely happen and why its almost August and over half the teams in the NHL still haven't finished their offseason work.
