Reverse ACGM

Description
I, a Canucks fan, made this team using two trades I've seen multiple Preds and Canes fans propose in their ACGMs.

I think this is a playoff team. We improved our D, progression from our young forwards should help offset the loss of Miller and Garland, and we gained a 1st.

We'll have Horvat, Kuzmenko, Hoglander, Fabbro, and Dermott to re-sign next year with roughly $17M in cap space, so we'll have to dump Myers, Dickinson, and/or Pearson. But that will be easier to do when each have just one year left on their contracts, and any of them could have a good enough season that they're no longer negative assets.

Let me know what you think!

Personally I’d want a better piece than Tolvanen in the Miller trade, especially since we’re adding Schenn. We could retain a bit as well, especially since I don’t think Bear gets that much money

Team does look like a playoff contender though I agree

I think the value's good, but I don't like trading Schenn either. I'd offer Poolman instead and retain 50% on Miller. Wanted to keep the trade as proposed though.

Canes pass. I'd rather have Necas than Garland. You can have Bear for a 3rd though

I know Canucks fans are notorious for overrating our own players, but I really think Garland makes the Canes a better team now. Necas might become the better player in two or three years, but for a team trying to win a Cup this year, wouldn't Garland (a better two-way player and 5v5 scorer signed at a reasonable AAV) be more valuable?

No. Because Garland can't play center, and Carolina's biggest questionmark is 2C. Garland is also going to be more expensive than Necas, and Carolina won't have the cap for it. Carolina will be trying to win the cup this year, but they're not in a position to start mortgaging young players away yet. Aho is 25, Necas 23, Svech 22, Kotkaniemi 22, Jarvis 20, Coghlan 24, Bear 25... this team is still very young. No need to start throwing sh*t at the wall yet.

I really like Garland, and Necas for Garland makes WAY more sense than Necas for Miller, but it really comes down to Carolina's needs. We're pretty set on the wing outside of maybe getting a cheaper LW for the 3rd line, we can pick up a winger in FA such as Milano or trade for a cheaper one and be just fine. But we do need to keep our centers with Trocheck leaving.
