Fair enough, the Isles aren't as cap strapped as some other teams. I would be more inclined to take the 1st and 2nd without Bailey. I think we could still get another asset but I admit I am kinda biased lol.

The Analytics community tends to value goals the same way 8 year olds do lol. Assists don’t matter to them and a secondary assist doesn’t matter either. The Oakland A’s and moneyball r a perfect example of how teams use analytics and how that changes over time. They prioritize players who are undervalued by the market and they dig deeper into why a player is succeeding or failing. It will be interesting to see if any NHL team tried to emulate what the San Francisco Giants are doing rn because they’ve gotten tremendous value out of older players.

Regardless Bailey has no Value to the hawks who are actively trying to lose 82 games this season. But I could see how another team might feel differently.

I agree with that 110%. I’m sure Philly said they wouldn’t take Hornqvist back for similar reasons or just because they didn’t want his contract. But if you don’t move salary out it’s hard to justify those kinds of moves. Biggest issue with the JGP trade is Ottawa took 0 dollars and 0 cents back in the deal lol.

At least this dude didn’t ask for your top prospect. I’ve been waiting for him to comment that it’s worth I’m moving Raty to dump Bailey…. It isn’t but I still expect this dude to say that lol.

I really could not care less to be honest - it's just for fun

I’d rather have Vatrano, Tippet a first and a third than Giroux. Between the Giroux and Reinheart trades florida moved a lot of assets while not addressing their blue line. The Chiarot trade was also a mistake ofc.

I think not adding Chychrun while they had assets was a mistake. He was clearly the better addition to round out their defense and Chiarot was clearly an overpayment end of the day.

Vatrano was a bit unrelated to the Giroux deal. The main reason they could afford Claude was because Ekblad went down
