Pittsburgh would be better off paying to move Pettersson then dumping Joseph. Kid has legit skill.

Ducks already have a log jam at the bottom of our depth order at D, specifically on the left side, we wouldn't be able to play Joseph.

We are in need of highly talented LW prospects.

I’m normally in agreement with you, but I have to differ here. POJ looks better than every NHL ready LD we have not named Fowler. He doesn’t perfectly fit long-term with Mintyukov and Zellweger coming up, but to get him and a third for taking on one year of Zucker is totally worth it. Plus if Zucker can stay healthy and rebound it’s not unreasonable to get a little back for him retained at the TDL as well

I don't mind the idea of using POJ to trade away Zucker. By adding Smith the Pens may be able to afford moving on from POJ if they don't see him as a top 4D. The question is then who do they bring in for LW. If they shed all of Zucker's salary they could potentially sign Stastny and Milano. I think that would be a pretty deep roster and provide additional flexibility for when one of the Centers miss time.

Why? They might not want to sign Crouse, the other 2 can be flipped at the deadline and get some picks and prospects. They can still lose for Bedard, maybe it's not there, but it might interest them some? Drop Zucker instead of McGinn. Just was throwing it out here, no chance it happens but just trying to make "Arm chair deals"
