If you're going to pay an arm and a leg, GO BIG. This is pretty damn impossible but if you're all in this MIGHT be the package needed.

Don't waste your money on Vanek. If MTL has problems scoring Vanek isn't going to solve that unless your on the PP all game.

Woa! That would definitely get you Mark Scheifele, and is probably overpayment actually, if you are talking pure value. However, a true #1 centre is so hard to find, I'd think that unless Winnipeg could somehow get their hands on one in return, or the ability to draft one that would make an immediate impact, I just don't see Scheifele being for sale. It would be a little bit more likely that such a package could net you Leon Draistall, who will always play second fiddle to McDavid as far as the center position goes. Assuming the Habs are in win-now mode, which I believe they are, I'd like to see them take a legitimate shot at Evgeny Malkin. He has a massive contract, but there would be your legitimate number 1 center on a team that, potentially, could afford to give him up if they got fair value for him, obviously. Not many teams besides the Penns and Oilers with two #1 centers.

I don't think it's GO BIG. It's GO LOTS". Only Gachenyuk and Sergachev are really the only two players that make a difference in the trade. Not quality at all for the Jets.
