I think they might be a decent shutdown pair and bangers, both are big.

Also, I don't want Merk playing 19/20 minutes, shelter him and 2nd PP.

what about Knyzhov though? both him and Nutivarra were oult last year and Knyzhov is healthy and training again.

we have to move Simek. why didnt we buy our Vlasic? and i guess until and injury hits put Megna in the minors.

I like Kynzhov, just don't know if he's ready and no reason to rush him. MG said Simek looks good and we may have to wait until TDL and build his value again. I like Megna and as I said I like his size with Benning. Nothing set in stone tho until training camp.

Knyzhov still has waivers so we could stash him in the AHL till an injury hits. Same with Merkley if he doesnt come to camp NHL ready

I may be crazy, but IMO there would be a lot teams who would give more than a 2024 6th for Bonino.
If I were Jason Karmanos, I would gladly give up a 2024 sixth just for his playoff experience, but 9 consecutive years of at least 9 goals, low OZ%, $2,050,000 cap hit expiring at the end of year, PK etc.

Yeah, I wasn't sure, he isn't a dump, but we have to move him, with Sturm taking his role.

I get the feeling that Sharks are gonna send down everyone that doesn't require waivers to start the season (Eklund, Bordeleau, Merkley & Knyzhov) and give the vets the room to dig themselves a hole.
Simek could join them in the minors too, but I think he fits the high compete mandate from Grier so we may again see a Vlasic-Simek 3rd pair.

not enough skill for the 2nd pair though. That's what we'd want on the 3rd pair.
