I would think Johnsson would start over Bastian, but I don't follow NJD, so I wouldn't know how that worked out last year.

It'll be interesting to see who out of Blackwood/Vanecek gets more starts. Personally, I'd start off the year with Vanecek, but they're pretty close, and given Blackwood's longer time with the team, he'll probably get first dibs.

Johnsson is the better player but Bastian is the better fit for the 4th line if that makes sense

Ugh, a 3.4 million dollar healthy scratch

Strong top six, decent bottom six. Back end is solid, Goaltending should at least be okay. Don't know if it's enough to make them playoff contenders. Luke Hughes might be the missing piece to round out the core. Hopefully Hamilton bounces back, but that Palat contract won't age well. Might start to look ugly when the team is finally ready to contend, which I think is at least 3 years away
