I actually quite like your Carolina-Flames deal. I don't think Calgary would need to add an additional draft pick though. What happened to Michael Ferland and Mark Jankowski? Both should be major factors on this Calgary team this upcoming season. My one concern is that I do not think Vegas would take on Brouwer's contract, so there would need to be another trade to shed that cap space for Oshie.

That is a massive, massive overpayment for Fleury. If Parsons is involved, then Murray is as well - and even then, I don't think Parsons is moving.

I may have made a mistake with the Ferland and Jankowski, total brain fart. I know the Flames may not need to add the additional draft pick, I may have just been sweetening the pot a little to much to secure that 1st round pick. As for Brouwer, if he was not selected in the expansion draft, a potential Gio trade would free up the cap space for Oshie.

Who is higher on your list? Parsons or Gillies? One of the two would have to be on the move back in my opinion.

I agree with the comments above (JT and Eagle). As much as we hope they want Brouwer, I think we're dreaming if we think they will take him. And Tre knows Pitt needs to move MAF, he won't overpay for him.
Overall I don't mind your scenario at all. What I am questioning are your Bennett and Stone signings. Stone won't take a million dollar pay cut over last year, he's a 2nd pairing guy. Bennett had a horrible year and therefore should not be signed for that type of money. Gallagher as a comparable got paid $3.75M after a 47 point year, Bennett should not get $3.85M after 26 points.
Lastly, I don't see Oshie coming to a Canadian team even if we are the highest bidder.

Kulak?

I really like moving Gaudreau and have been quietly pitching the idea in a few places, mostly to total condemnation. Fans will string BT up if he moved him. I however believe that he is not going to be a difference maker in the playoffs when it really matters. He is scared when it gets rough. I think he could be traded to Philly or NJ easily and get something darn good back. Once he is a proven playoff flop, his value will diminish considerably. Time to move him is in the next 10 months, by the trade deadline.

I have seen a couple of different numbers on Stones contract that is now ending. I have seen $4 mill, but also $2.0 mill. Anyone know if Arizona retained some salary? Hockeybuzz says it is $2.0 mill.

I dont know if Arizona retained any of that salary. But, I totally agree with you on Johnny Hockey, that guy needs to go while his value is still high. He is a great player, but I dont know if he is the guy who will get the team to a championship.
