Just an idea I had.

I'm not totally against acquiring Myers if it means sending Zaitsev the other way.

Zaitsev has the lower cap hit, but Myers is the better defenceman.

Yeah. Going into the season without Zaitsev and just betting on youth is probably better than swapping Zaitsev for Myers. You're either paying assets to get rid of Zaitsev now, or Myers a year from now when they're under the gun because of the cap.

Poolman may not be ready, you're right. Keeper, I actually have no idea, he hasn't played a game for Van since we signed him 2 years ago. Sounds like he's skating so maybe, maybe not. Hoglander is set to return though, however he may start in Abbotsford

Some players that are RFAs might underperform.

For instance, how do we know that Shane Pinto will bounce back?

He only played 5 games and then he missed the rest of the season.

And what if Formenton and Batherson become persona non grata?
