You might wanna remove that Miller trade by morning or you are gonna get absolutely shelled by the AGM dudes.

Toronto isn't giving up both of their future RHDs for 1 year of Miller

Throwing a bunch of trash in isn't going to make that Miller trade ok. Take out all the small pieces on the Vancouver side you are trying to justify it with, take out Liljegren and then you have your Miller trade.
OK. I generally agree that the Miller trade is off-base, but I am one to say that the futures the Canucks are parting with are actually above average prospects.
Woo: is a big stay-at-home D that plays RD, that to their credit, the Canucks are taking some time with. Clearly a downgrade from either Liligren or Niemelä, I am not about to say he isn't a guy that would have a clear path to the NHL in Toronto. In fact, the kind of defenseman the Leafs actually need!
DiPietro: has the makings of a solid #1 tender (I didn't say superstar!). Goaltending depth, without argument is the weakest position organizationally for the Leafs (see the offseason moves). Is he ready? Good God no. But, is he a guy that possibly carries a 50 games work load in a few years? Yes.
Now again, I will say the deal is quite lopsided in the Canucks favour (it solves their RD issues for a decade and Miller is good but not that good), so removing either Niemelä or Liligren is necessary, and the Leafs really don't need Dermott back, but there is a framework there that can make sense for both clubs.
Is it a deal I make if I am the Leafs? Probably not, but the prospects involved coming back from the Canucks are intriguing.
