Zibanejad and Trochek at center, with Kakko, Kreider, LaFreniere and Panarin on the wings -- J. T. Miller would seem like an almost unneeded luxury with that group which, after all, got to the ECF last season. Meanwhile, four years of Trouba anchoring the Rangers' top-4 defensemen would seem to be much more valuable than one year of Miller in any event, and Trouba has a NMC to boot. I just can't see this trade happening.

Minnesota has $4.3 million in cap space and three roster slots open. Spending $3.25 million on Pearson would limit the Wild to a 22-man roster for no particular reason.
