I think bottom-six center depth is an issue for DET. I think value-wise this is fair, but I don't think it makes much sense for them.

Detroit says no. Suter was a risk as a 2C when signed. This season he gets to be a 3C and will most likely have more success. He produces more than McGinn and is two years younger.

POJ is another left handed d prospect which Detroit has in droves. You also wanted rentention on Suter which means the Wings eat even more cap space ( I understand DET has the space) and want the Wings to add a fourth in the process.
