Too much from Winnipeg for a cap dump and two unneeded players.

Wheeler and Zucker are both cap dumps. Winnipeg has locker room problems too they need to move at least one of Wheeler or Scheifele. Personally I think Scheifele is the real problem but captain Wheeler is his good buddy.

Idk how I feel about this. Ig it depends on cap space and how well Wheeler will perform

The only problem with your assumption is that you don't understand what a cap dump is. Wheeler is overpaid but still an effective, close to point per game player. Close to PPG players aren't cap dumps, unless you have a heavy bias against that player.

Zucker on the other hand is a pure cap dump. Players that can provide the same skilkset as him are easily found for league minimum.

Wheeler is overpaid, moving an overpaid player is exactly what a camp dump is. Usually you have to pay extra to move such players. In this case with a cap dump going both ways they balance each other out to some extent. Wheeler is certainly the better player of the two but his cap hit is also $2.275 million more.

If Wheeler performs well this year he could be a valuable rental at the trade deadline with retention but right now with no retention he's a cap dump.

Having said that I don't think either team would do this deal. More likely Pittsburgh pays a bottom feeder to take Zucker before the season starts and Winnipeg probably trades Wheeler with retention though probably not until it's closer to the trade deadline.
