Flames aren't tight on cap and might consider it since it frees up so much cap for them but it makes no sense for Boston. $9 million in cap space would be enough for just about any rental Calgary wants. Next year they'll need more than half of it for Huberdeau and probably most of the rest for Weegar. Boston however would be $8.5 mil in the hole.

For Calgary it would depend on how much they like Lysell who they could have had at the draft but they choose Coronato instead and Boston took Lysell with the very next pick. Making it Craig Smith instead of Lysell and taking out the 1st might be more appealing to both teams, especially if Monahan starts the season on LTIR.

Bruins decline on this one - they need Lysell more than they need Monahan who may struggle to play again at the level the Bruins would need him to play at. Looch is a rental for grit and to be fair, Hanafin isn't what the Bruins needs right now.
