Description
holloway+karlsson+zary help solidify our future C problem.

Broberg+ hague are good young additions to the defence that will be a big part of the future core alongside lindholm/mcavoy/lohrei

add another pick in a stacked draft class

not only does this team now have a brighter future but i think they could be a potential cup contender
the defence gets slightly worse but we already were one of the best defensive teams. we also struggled getting offence from our defence outside of mcavoy so having lindholm for a full year now and the addition of barrie should help that out

the offence is stacked though having karlsson on your 3rd line and smith being your 4th best RW is great depth, i think it would be smart allowing holloway to develop with bergy and marchand for you before centering his own line

Can’t see Alberta doing that.

Karlsson is just another Coyle with a worse contract. Pass. I’d do Ullmark/Foligno for Hague/Carrier/Brossoit though.

Hmm I feel that Edmonton trade is interesting. They don't quite have the cap space for that, maybe if Holloway was swapped with JP that would solve the cap problem on the Edmonton side. You would then have to do a bit of moving around money on the Boston side of things but I think it is doable. I think if you modify the Vegas trade and don't include Hague since you have a bunch of LD might help. Maybe use Debrusk and something to try and pry a RD from LA or NJ instead of trading him to Calgary would be a bit more beneficial.

I wonder if he swapped Holloway for JP might work.

Boston would have no interest then. Nor would cap work.

I’ve seen multiple Edmonton ACGM’s with this exact trade scenario lol

So? Ripping off someone else's stupid trade idea doesn't change the fact that it's a stupid trade idea.

Bussi isn't ready. Bergeron and Krejci will retire at some point. Who knows how long Marchand and Hall will be here while playing at their current level of play. Doubtful they can win the Cup beyond this year (still need to improve right now though).

It would set up the team for mediocrity.

Would love to see Hague in a Bs uniform hard to do that without taking something on, which both teams can’t really do right now.

Although, would anyone pick up Forbort on the waiver wire? He’d be the first to go (but the math doesn’t work to trade him one for one, nor the skill).

Interesting to add Ullmark there. Not sure who’s available for a backup goalie duty for Swayman, so that would be a challenge. Again, cap issues for VGK to make that happen, though they do need a starter.
