I don't think Valimaki's value could be lower at this point, often injured, has not played well when healthy and has been passed by guys like Mackey. Texier is still 22, put up over a half point per game last season with 73% D zone starts. He's a valuable player on a lot of teams especially at only 1.5M. Calgary adds fairly significantly here I think.

No. Texier had stretches when he was the best forward we have; we're going to at least give him the chance to see if he can do that (or something like that consistently) before we trade him. And we have zero need for LD.
