Tearing it Down to the Studs

Description
THIS IS NOT AN EFFORT TO CREATE A ROSTER FOR THIS SEASON OR THE 2023-2024 SEASON. It's simply an experiment on trying to identify assets that should be key parts of the impending and ongoing rebuild. I've tried to limit the main roster to players who will definitely be on the team going forward plus prospects who have a good chance at being top-6 forwards or top-4 defensemen. If I've left anybody out whom you think should be included, please let me know. (For my purposes, it's the point of this exercise.)

The idea here is to illuminate positional depth and identify specific areas of strength (particularly LD) and weakness (notably G, but also LW and RD).

Players shown on the IR list are guys I think are helpful as depth personnel, but certainly aren't key assets.

Players shown on the LTIR list are those who should be gone soon, if only by the expiration of their contracts, and whom I can't see being part of the renaissance.

Draftee signing amounts are intended to reflect my understanding of level of promise. I'd love some education there, too.

Can I suggest moving people out?

Tuch, Norlinder, Struble all EXTREMELY suspect to ever make the NHL.

Anderson, Dvorak should be traded within 1 year and I would move them to LTIR.

Dach & Primeau, although not signed, should not be added at RW (not center) and G

Pitlick should be included in the rebuild

EDIT: Fun an engaging post. Thanks!

Thanks for the helpful input. It was exactly the type of response I was looking for -- especially the reminder that I'd forgotten about Dach.

I think you're too high on Tuch. Besides the name his curb of progression shows very little to be excited about. On the other hand, Josh Roy is already making a name for himself without even being 20. I feel like Harvey-Pinard and Ylonen should also be up there somewhere, no chance at a top6 but they both have tools to grown into very effective role players

Thanks for the instructive input. It's always good to be educated by those more knowledgeable than myself, which was the point of the post.

Nissen-Dichow should be considered in goaltending, he's going to play with Rögle this year and if his numbers are as good as they were he could solidify his spot as a solid prospect.
