Is that not enough? 2 of there top prospects a 1st rd pick and a middle 6 fwd with retained sal so helps bluejackets with cap space to have jenner and texier eligible to play

Flames reject, we want Wright or Beniers for Hanifin, if he's for sale which he isn't

Lol thats just an unrealistic return, especially when in this simulation your getting seattles top defensive prospect and 2 middle/bottom 6 fwds alomg with 2 2nd rd picks this year and a 3rd next… only thing you could change ino is maybe add a 1st rd and take away a 2nd rd pick

The jackets trade doesn’t make sense for them. We need help at the top of our lineup not depth. So giving up the player with the highest upside in the entire organization, for a bunch of mid tier assets doesn’t make sense.

In A Kent Johnson trade the jackets would be looking for a young center with the top 6 upside. So literally what we are giving up.

Why i added Winterton and Lind to the trade, two top 5 prospects the Kraken have alongside tanev on a 2.5mil x 3yr deal after the 1mil retained to give your 3rd line a physical winger who can produce with 2024 1st rd pick i thibk is more than enough, maybe switch the 1st to a 2023 for more appeal in the trade

Still doesn’t fulfill the quality vs quantity. Obviously Kent is not worth either wright or beniers but those are the only two assets we would be interested in a Johnson swap. No asset in that trade comes close to the upside Kent has. And we need that upside compared to 3-4 mid tier assets.
Bluntly Jackets need high end centers. Kent is projected to be a high end player and potentially a center. What is being offered isn’t what we are looking for. It isn’t close either.

    Counter,
Beniers for cuelemans, del bell belluz, a 24 first and nyquist half retained.
2 top five prospects, a first and roster player for a top end asset center asset.

    It doesn’t really work.

EDIT:changing cuelemans to foudy to have closer comparison to Johnson trade. If lind is a top 5 prospect at 23, foudy definitely is.

Its debatable since Winterton was a ppg player last season in the OHL 46points-20G-26A in 37 games and Lind would’ve been ppg players last year in the AHL-35 points-17G-18A in 46 games if it wasn’t for his 23 gameNHL stint last season where he had 2G-6A-8p so he can also give you offensive upside along with Tanev this season

Ppg in the ncaa > Ppg whl. He’s a good prospect. He’s not KJ.
Lind is 23, He’s about as good as he gets most likely Tanev is a solid player but we have 18 forwards who need ice time at the nhl. And the first is nice but should be later. If it isn’t then it wouldn’t be available or would have protection or even if it isn’t, and it is top5 we just draft another Kent Johnson 2 years later leaving too young for our JG and werenski core by the time he is nhl ready.

We’re not gonna see eye to eye.

Edit, added more to first round pick, at best we get another KJ, and Age gaps our core too much. By the time player X is ready Johnny hockey will be in his 30s and werenski will be 30.

Probably not but enjoyed the debate, helped me learn little more about KJ and didnt have awful rebuttals trying to belittle the other lmao

If anything im getting from this would need A-better prospect and another 1st maybe or B- young top 6 player, prospect and a first instead of the middle 6 fwd

Needs to be a young center coming back. Quality over quantity. The only 2 assets we would be interested in are non touchables.

You are wrong and he is right.

Hanafin is a top pairing LD who is ONLY 25. Dude..... Hanafin is an upgrade on Dunn. Full stop.

Further to the point, the Flames are still highly competitive. Landing a prospect is warm amd fuzzy, but a pair of bottom 6 forwards that the Flames literally have no room for and 2nd round picks (which is about a 15% chance of being an NHL player), isn't gonna cut it.

I am a Leafs fan and can tell you this much, so what does that tell you?

Hanafin as a Cane was undeveloped and buried. That's the point.

He can go after Hanafin sure. But Wright with Soucy going back is much more a starting point. (Berniers I see as a no fly zone) Your package is a bag of pucks and you know it.
